Love is Brewing: Steps to Plan a Coffee Themed Bridal Shower

I love you a latte. We were meant to bean. You keep me grounded. You mocha me happy. I coffeelings for You (like I caught feelings for you...) You get the idea. There are a lot of cute and corny coffee love puns that prove a coffee-themed bridal shower would be the perfect way to celebrate a whole latte love.

Coffee is all about energy, community, and warmth- all perfect attributes for the big day before your big day! A coffee-themed bridal shower is a fun and cute way to celebrate the bride-to-be. Plus, who doesn’t love coffee? At the very least, each guest is bound to love tea, hot chocolate, a decaf frappe, or a fluffy warm pastry.

Our baristas at Mr. Coffee Concierge are here with the essential guide to planning a successful coffee themed bridal shower.

Where to Host

Before making any other plans, you need to choose a location. Determining a location may depend on how large your invite list is, how intimate you want the experience to be, and the aesthetic appeal you want to capture. “Espresso self” photo booth station anyone?

Here are some hotspots to serve up some sweet ‘n’ tasty drinks and a good time:

  • Home for a cozy vibe

  • Banquet hall for an elegant soirée

  • Park for a laid-back afternoon of fun & games

Plan a Rough Outline

Bridal showers are typically held from either 12 to 3 pm or 1 to 4 pm on a weekend afternoon. Although there really are no rules, but if you’re in need of some inspo, a bridal shower is often scheduled as follows:

  • Guest arrival

  • Icebreaker game

  • Introduction of the host, bride, and guests of honors

  • Open bar for beverages & snacks

  • Bridal shower games and prizes

  • Lunch

  • Gift opening during which cake is served (with coffee, of course!)

  • Guest favor reminder

  • Thank you from the bride

  • Departure

This is a simple enough outline to get you started on the planning.

Create Invitations

Send your guests a fun, theme-oriented invitation to get them excited for your special day. A quick search on Etsy or Zazzle will pull up hundreds of adorable stationary choices with latte art graphics, adorable coffee puns, and beautiful espresso-stained color palettes. When preparing your bridal shower invitations, be sure to include:

  • The guest’s name

  • Time, date, and location

  • Details on how to RSVP

  • The name(s) of the host(s)

  • The bride’s registry information

Don’t forget to mention that Mr. Coffee Concierge will be there with plenty of caffeinated and decaffeinated drinks to keep everyone full of beans and ready to party.

Decorate

To get your space looking festive, a few cute and quirky accents can add a pop of java vibes. We love this coffee confetti- or “coffetti”- by Good & Plenty Crafts. A cute banner with latte cups and hearts or the tagline “Love is Brewing” can make a sweet statement in the décor scheme.

Add charming centerpieces to every table. Stick flowers in mason jars filled with coffee beans or use pour-over containers, Chemex coffee makers, and mugs as vase alternatives. These can not only add beauty and spirit to the space but can also be given away as prizes during games!

Coffee-themed toppers like these from Fairfable on Etsy can add extra flavor to cupcakes and the main cake.

Share Laughter with Games

Did you really go to a bridal shower if you didn’t play a ton of fun games like Bridal Shower Bingo, He Said She Said, or How Well Do You Know the Bride? Etsy and Zazzle have plenty of sweetly designed coffee themed games.

You can also play a game for a big prize – fill a large air-tight jar with coffee beans and make sure to count them as you add them to the jar. Let guests fill out a guessing card when they arrive and give the coffee (or another gift of your choice) to the person with the closest guess!

Prize gifts can include items such as coffee scrubs, vanilla latte scented candles, a nice wooden coffee scoop and clip, a nice new mug, or a sugar container.

“Guess the beans in the jar” is a fun coffee themed game that can fuel a bit of healthy competition for your guests.

Guest Favors

Even if your guests don’t win a game, you should treat them with a lovely goodie bag. Place a few packs of our Gourmet Café Mocha blend, some coffee pods, coffee-themed keychains, coffee scented soap bars, amaretto coffee melts, and maybe some 50ml mini bottles of Kahlua Liqueur (if you’re feeling extra generous) in a paper coffee bag, and your guests are bound to love you a latte.
